Privacy Policy

HAY does not collect your data. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Every mood you log stays on your device.

What HAY stores, and where

The moods you log — the emotion, its intensity, an optional reason, and the time you logged it — are saved in HAY’s own storage on your iPhone, together with your settings such as the chosen theme and colour. This data is shared with the HAY home-screen widget through a private app group on the same device, so the widget can show your most recent mood.

None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else. We have no way to read it. If you delete HAY, this data is deleted with the app.

What HAY does not do

• No user accounts, sign-in, or email collection
• No analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs
• No location, contacts, photos, health, or microphone access
• No selling or sharing of personal data — there is none to sell

Purchases

HAY+ is bought through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple; HAY receives only whether an entitlement is active. We never see your name, payment details, or Apple Account. Apple’s handling of that transaction is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy, and Apple may share aggregate, anonymised sales statistics with us through App Store Connect.

Notifications

If you allow it, HAY schedules gentle local check-in reminders. These are created and delivered by your device — no notification server is involved and no message leaves your iPhone. You can turn them off at any time in iPhone Settings → Notifications → HAY.

Exports

Exporting your history as CSV or PDF creates a file on your device that you choose what to do with. Once you share it through another app, that app’s own privacy policy applies to the copy you sent.

Children

HAY is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Because HAY holds no data about you outside your own device, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or erase on your behalf under the GDPR or similar laws. You hold a complete copy of your data, you can export it whenever you like, and you can erase it by deleting the app.

Changes

If this policy ever changes — for instance if optional iCloud sync is added — the updated version will be published on this page with a new date, and any change that affects what is stored off-device will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
